Why it matters
Good bookkeeping isn't busywork. It's the foundation for smart tax planning, real business decisions, and a stress-free filing season.
Behind on your books? Catch-up bookkeeping gets you current without judgment. Books a mess? QuickBooks cleanup fixes the errors and sets you up right going forward.
Bookkeeping pricing
Bookkeeping is priced to fit your business: the number of accounts, your monthly transaction volume, and whether you need ongoing work or a catch-up and cleanup first. After a quick consultation I'll give you a flat monthly rate, so there are no surprises.
Common questions
Do you only do taxes during tax season?
No. I work year-round. Tax planning, amendments, business formation, and bookkeeping happen all year, not just January through April. The best tax moves usually get made before December 31, not after.
Do I have to be local to work with you?
No. Tax prep and bookkeeping are fully virtual and nationwide. I'm rooted in LaPlace, Louisiana, but I serve clients across the country.
What does a basic return cost?
An individual base return (Form 1040) is $225. That covers W-2 income, basic credits, and Schedules 1 through 3. If your return needs more, like self-employed income or rental property, those schedules are added on top. I'll always tell you the full price before any work starts, no surprises.
What is Schedule C, and do I need it?
If you earn self-employment or 1099 income, including gig work or running your own truck, you report that business's income and expenses on Schedule C. It's added to your return at +$350.
Why is my return more than $225?
Because your situation needs more than the base return. For example, self-employed or 1099 income adds a Schedule C (+$350), and rentals add a Schedule E (+$350). You only pay for the schedules your return actually requires.
Do you handle trucking taxes?
Yes, owner-operator trucking taxes are a specialty of mine. If you're an owner-operator, you're exactly who I built this for. See everything I cover for owner-operators.
Can you review a return I already filed?
Yes. A prior-year review with no filing is $75. If it needs to be corrected, amendments are $200 for current clients and $300 for new clients. Amendments aren't automatic, they require a full review first.
Is it too late to plan for this year?
Not if it's before December 31. Many of the best moves, like retirement contributions, equipment timing, and estimated payments, have to happen during the year. A Tax Planning Session is the quickest way to get a written plan.
What's a Tax Planning Session?
A $350 flat, 60-minute virtual strategy session you can book any time of year, mid-year or at year-end. We review your year-to-date income, your estimated tax payment status, and your business structure, then you get a written action plan appropriate to your tax year and circumstances. The $350 credits 100% toward an ongoing quarterly planning engagement if you upgrade within 30 days. Book a Tax Planning Session.
